Ladysmith Downtown Business Association
Ladysmith is located on the eastern shores of beautiful Vancouver Island in British Columbia. With a population of over 8,000, it has a thriving downtown business community centered around historic First Avenue.

The LDBA actively works to cultivate an environment of economic and cultural vibrancy in the Ladysmith downtown core. The meeting schedule is:
- Executive/Marketing Committee: 1st Thursday of every month
- General Membership: 3rd Thursday of every month

At the 2009 Ladysmith Chamber of Commerce Spirit Awards, the Service Employee of the Year award was given to Lesley Parent of 49th Parallel Printers.

This award is given to an employee whose performance, attention to quality workmanship and service, is delivered with positive enthusiasm and a smile. This person will have performed their job to such a level that their efforts have assisted revenues, but have enriched the lives of their customers ans co workers.

A year ago it was a dream. At 8:01 a.m. on Tuesday August 4, that dream came true as Ladysmith’s very own transit service kicked into gear and the ‘temporary trolley’ left the first stop of its 40 km circuit from one end of Ladysmith to the other.

Students Helping Seniors Program 2009
Helping seniors with household tasks and providing youth with employment.

About the Program
Students Helping Seniors enables seniors to complete odd jobs around the home with the aid of local youth through a coordinated summer program. Students provide assistance with jobs such as, yard and garden maintenance, household chores, pet care and shopping. The homeowner supplies all the tools, materials and equipment required.

There are American $50 bills circulating Ladysmith which is fake.
THE LDBA RECOMMEND THAT YOU DO NOT ACCEPT US CURRENCY UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE.
One person has been arrested but the other is about 6 foot – dark hair, dark eyes, very nervous, claims to loose a wallet but has money and was wearing dark clothes. The police said that this has been happening for the last couple of days in Ladysmith, they have had a few reports of fake 50.00 American bills. They suspect it is someone local.
Stay alert and call your local RCMP if you suspect anything!
