Paul Bouma

Bouma Meats has been servicing the town of Ladysmith since 1994 but the location has been a butcher shop for over 50 years. We try to buy as much local beef, pork, chicken, lamb and fish as we can as we believe in supporting the local economy on Vancouver Island.

We retain the “old fashioned” feel to the shop: we use sides of beef; all produce is under glass for you to browse; we carry a wide range of products including:

  • Beef, pork, lamb, buffalo
  • Free-range chickens
  • Free-range turkeys
  • Fresh wild fish (sometimes right off the boat)
  • Fresh seafood
  • Local meat pies, sausage rolls and pasties
  • Local cabbage rolls
  • Smoked hams and bacon
  • Homemade sausages: buffalo, turkey, sundried tomato, Italian, pork, pork & beef, Chorizo, maple, Boers and lamb
  • Artisan cheese selection

Fox & Hounds

Bouma Meats is the official supplier of sausages to the Fox & Hounds British pub-style restaurant in Nanaimo.

We can also custom-cut any size order (e.g. sides, meat packs) so why not stop by and see our specialty foods and get a “taste” of personal service from a real, local butcher!
