Services

Founded in August, 1908, the Chronicle is one of the oldest community papers on Vancouver Island. As a community newspaper, we report  local news, sports, events, arts and entertainment and offer classifieds and real estate, along with other advertising.

The Chronicle publishes two popular tourist magazines, one for Ladysmith the other for Chemainus, as well as local magazines called Go Gardening, Prime, a seniors magazine and a Homeowners Business Directory . Not only that, we produce  supplements for our many community festivals like Festival of Lights and Ladysmith Days and cover all the many community events.

Our online news source (www.ladysmithchronicle.com) is a convenient source for breaking news, with more than 11,000 visits to our site each month. Visit our site to participate in polls, view the community calendar, or to follow the links to our other sites like bcclassified.com, bclocalhomes.com. If it’s flyers you want, try flyerland.ca.

Our editor is always interested in letters to the editor.  Keep it short with 200 words or less and be sure to include your name and phone number. Email to editor [at] ladysmithchronicle [dot] com.

One Response on “The Ladysmith Chemainus Chronicle”

  • Garry Girvan, 423 Walker Ave, Ladysmith, BC says: June 21st, 2010 at 4:24 pm

The Girvan and Randall families would like to express our thanks to the Ladysmith Sportsmen’s Club for the Family Fishing Weekend on Saturday, June 19th. For all the families at the Bush Creek Hatchery the outing was more than an excuse to catch fish.It was as much a community building venture and an investment in fostering conservation for the children. Kudos especially to Dave for his enthusiasm and the welcome that he extended to the public.
