The Chronicle has been printing the news in Ladysmith and Chemainus since 1908.  As a community newspaper, we report  local news, sports, events, arts and entertainment and offer classifieds and real estate, along with other advertising.

The Chronicle publishes two popular tourist magazines, one for Ladysmith the other for Chemainus, as well as a garden magazine called Go Gardening. Not only that, we produce  supplements for our many community festivals like Festival of Lights and Ladysmith Days.  There are also special advertising features such as Bumper to Bumper.

Our online news source (www.ladysmithchronicle.com) is a convenient source for breaking news, with more than 9,000 unique visitors each month visiting our site to participate in polls, view the community calendar, or to follow the links to our other sites like getawaybc.com, bcdailybuzz.com, bcclassified.com, lclocalhomes.com. The Girvan and Randall families would like to express our thanks to the Ladysmith Sportsmen’s Club for the Family Fishing Weekend on Saturday, June 19th. For all the families at the Bush Creek Hatchery the outing was more than an excuse to catch fish.It was as much a community building venture and an investment in fostering conservation for the children. Kudos especially to Dave for his enthusiasm and the welcome that he extended to the public.
