Services

Welcome to the Ladysmith Maritime Society and the LMS community marina. We are located in Ladysmith harbour, Vancouver Island, BC – in the heart of the Gulf Islands. We are the first marina on your port side after you’ve entered the harbour.
Not only are we located conveniently close to the town center and the railway station, but the local transit system – the Ladysmith trolley – stops right at our property for rapid transportation around Ladysmith.
Our community marina provides secure, affordable moorage on an annual contract basis. We also offer convenient moorage for overnight visitors, as well as seasonal moorage during the off-peak months. Water and power are supplied to the docks. Contact our Wharfinger at 250-245-1146 for more details.
Please explore our website for information about the various other waterfront activities to be found at the LMS community marina. Discover all about our maritime museum, our popular harbour tours, our wonderful collection of heritage vessels, our support for the disabled sailing program, our efforts to assist in the recovery of BC’s purple martin population, as well our exciting annual maritime festival.
Ladysmith Maritime Society hours of operation and activities:
- Harbour tours operate at 10:30am and 2pm everyday in July and August. Book your tour today. Call 250-245-0109.
- The Maritime Museum is open 1pm to 4pm every day during July and August. Experience the rich history of the Ladysmith Harbour, from Chemainus First Nation culture, to coal mining, forestry and oyster farming. The museum showcases our heritage vessels.

- The Disabled Sailing program operates from the Community Marina, providing the disabled with the opportunity to experience the sport of sailing.

We spent four nights at the Marina the latter part of July. We’d planned on only one night as we traveled north from our home port of Olympia, Washington. Wharfinger Mark Mercer, through his friendly and informative manner, convinced us to stay longer. We found the activities of the Ladysmith Maritime Society extremely interesting and beneficial. The proximity to town, the interesting activities and the friendliness of the people will make this a repeat visit for us.
