Lesley Parent: Service Employee of the Year

At the 2009 Ladysmith Chamber of Commerce Spirit Awards, the Service Employee of the Year award was given to Lesley Parent of 49th Parallel Printers.
This award is given to an employee whose performance, attention to quality workmanship and service, is delivered with positive enthusiasm and a smile. This person will have performed their job to such a level that their efforts have assisted revenues, but have enriched the lives of their customers ans co workers.
Where did you grow up?
I was born in Glasgow Scotland, and in 1966 moved to Canada.
How long have you lived in Ladysmith?
I have lived in Ladysmith since 1967, so this is really where I grew up.
How long have you worked at 49th Parallel Printers?
I have worked at 49th Parallel Printers for 3 years, which is part of the 49th Parallel Group of Companies, I have worked for 49th for 30 years.
How many people work there and what is your role?
There are 4 of us that work in the printers, including myself. As the manager I am responsible for the running of the business.
What is your favourite part of your job?
The best part of my job is working with people, and helping with their printing needs, from photocopying old family photo’s to custom designed work to fit their needs and budget.
